Both my brick walls may have moved from Butler or Hamilton County, Ohio to Vermillion Co. IN with a group of families.  I find them in Vermillion Co. by 1835 but still in Butler Co. in 1820.  These families inter-married with many listing birth places in Ohio and marriage place in Vermillion county and later many moved on to the Washington Territory.

James Clark was born about 1797, possibly Butler Co.  He married Sarah Rowen July 2, 1820 in Butler Co. Her line is well established and can share info if needed.  Sarah died Dec. 1 1835 in Vermillion Co. IN.  A biography written in 1888 states that 3 of their children are still living, indicating other children were born to them.  The known children are:

Jane Clark, born Dec. 14, 1825-most likely OH.  She married ? Halter/Hatley.  They moved on to the Washington Territory.

Lydia Clark, no birth date or place known.  She married ? Crabb. They moved on to the Washinton Territory.

(Many of the Rowen/Round families moved  on to the Washington Territory also)

Mary Clark, born 1827-most likely OH.  She married David B Stone Dec. 30, 1854 in Vermillion County.  They stayed in Vermillion Co.  David was born in 1827 and died May 3, 1903.  Mary lived until Feb. 6, 1917.  I don't know where David was born.  There was another older woman named Stone with the group but I cannot positively connect her.

There are two family stories concerning them.  It is said that shortly after getting married they walked back to OH and then again back to IN.  Why?Huh  Also, it was belived that David was the direct decendent of Thomas Stone, signer of the Declaration of Independence.  That is not possible because his only son died young.  However, he did have a step-brother named David that history has lost.  Possible.

James Clark and David B. Stone are my brick walls.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Rosanna Smith and William Van Buskirk were my ggg-grandparents. I have been trying to find her parents for many years. She was b. abt 1834 in Hudson, OH and died before Jun 1900.
married #1 John VB 1851 Marion Co, OH
married #2 William VB 1873 Marion Co, OH

As far as I know the two men were not related. John was the son of William & Phebe (Slater) VB and William MAY have been the son of Jacob & Elizabeth (Bishop) VB.

Rosanna has been found on census reports in Trumbull Co, OH, Cass Co, IN and Marion Co, OH. John died of disease in 1863 in Warrenton Junction, VA while a private in the 82nd Regiment of Ohio.

The only couple I have been able to find that MIGHT be her parents are George & Caroline SMITH:
George Smith
b. 14 Mar 1800
d. 4 Sep 1874
m. Catharine Smith
b. Aug 1806
d. 19 Apr 1869
both are buried at the German Reformed Cem, Southington, Trumbull Co, OH. On the 1850 Braceville, Trumbull Co, OH census, they have a daughter named Rosanna, age 15.

ANY help on Rosanna would be SO appreciated! Thanks Smiley

I'm trying to find information (parents or sibling specifically) on William Frederick Edge, born 6/1832, in either Monroe or Belmont Co. He married Dienna Lena Joy in 1849, possibly in Perry Twp. They had several children: Arinda (Orrinda), James, John, Julia Ann, George, Fred, Nancy, Elizabeth, Sarah, Mary, Edwin and William Carter (my great grandfather).  I have not been able to find any solid information on his parents or siblings and would greatly appreciate anything you can find on him. Thank you in advance! Donna

Looking for info as to death and burial of Daniel. Born June, 1798. Died 1839 in Ohio. Family story says he was killed accidentally during a wrestling match. Wife's (Anna Eyanson Wetzler) obituary indicates he fell during construction of a building. He was possibly buried in Fairfield County.
Thanks for anything you can provide.

Hello,
I'm trying to track the history of this old picture I bought in Mississippi. I have reason to believe this photo was obtained through an estate sale in Circleville or the nearby area. Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi,

I am looking for information about Michael Wallace, born in Virginia approximately 1814.  I think he married and then brought his family to Ohio.  He would have been my great, great grandfather.

Sheryl Wallace
