Title: Baker geneaology
Post by: gbaker on May 15, 2008, 03:00:45 PM
I originate in Darke County Ohio, where my parents are and grandparents lived.  I am interested in determining if there is an American Indian connection on my paternal grandmother's side that would be documented.  I am told that my grandmother's father was full-Cherokee.  The surname was Petry or Cooper.

There is a web site called "All things Cherokee".  It will give advice on how to search for your ancestor.
The sites owner can also help in your search--for a fee.  She is Cherokee herself.  I had to go this route to find my own Cherokee 4th greatgrandmother.
